Gulf to Gulf

Overview

The Gulf To Gulf Project seeks ways to address climate change by integrating Art and Science. Through combined global efforts, we must re-green the earth 36% by 2030 to mitigate global warming for human survival. Fish will be our progress indicators in this global, Gulf To Gulf initiative. The project will involve its participants in artistic, educational and collaborative actions and initiatives to attain these goals.

The project has emerged from a collaboration between James White, INSTAAR, Eugene Turner, LSU, artist Aviva Rahmani and technologist James Bradley, WebServes. The Gulf To Gulf website is dedicated to the relationship between consciousness-building about climate change, environmental restoration work, and motivating people to act. It will include the work of students, academics, scientists, and allied professionals. As a portal, the website will aggregate the allied and complementary activities of its core collaborators and those individuals and organizations that support their work or common objectives.

GulftoGulf.org is being developed through a technology partnership with nonprofit, WebServes (WS), a 501(c)3 technology services provider. As such, WebServes will host, develop and launch the GulftoGulf.org website as a public web portal to deliver relevant information, media content and announcements of activity and events related to Gulf To Gulf project. WS will host the website and provide the design and programming for its initial launch in 2013. Content will be derived from the activities of the project collaborators.
